Spotlight on Nasiba Mirpochoeva: A Leader in Education and Social Impact

Nasiba Mirpochoeva has been serving as the Director of the English Without Borders Network (EWB) since 2021. EWB unites English language teachers and students across Tajikistan, fostering collaboration through peer-to-peer networking, pedagogical material development, and comprehensive training programs. Through both online and in-person initiatives, including train-the-trainer programs, Nasiba and her team work tirelessly to extend English language education to every corner of the country. An alumna of two prestigious U.S. Government exchange programs, Nasiba participated in the Fulbright FLTA Program at Indiana University, Bloomington (2006-2007), and the Community Solutions Program (CSP) through IREX (2015). During her CSP internship at ONABEN, she honed her leadership skills, which have been instrumental in her career and life.
With over a decade of teaching experience at Khujand State University (1999-2009), Nasiba has also implemented more than 15 successful international projects funded by organizations such as the U.S. Embassy, GIZ, World Bank, and DFID. Her career includes roles in the NGO and banking sectors, including positions at Arvand Bank, MCF MicroInvest, and Hilfswerk International in Central Asia.
Nasiba has held leadership roles on the CSP Alumni Board (2017-2018) and served on the Executive Council of ASPBAE (2017-2024). Her achievements include winning the First National Oratory Contest among USG Alumni in Tajikistan (2016), being named U.S. Embassy Alumni of the Year (2018), and receiving the TOP-50 Award by Radio Vatan (2020). She has spoken at prominent events such as TEDx FSCJ, the Universal Peace Federation Summit in Seoul, and international conferences across the globe.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Nasiba co-founded SogdArt in 2019, a social start-up supporting vulnerable women and youth through economic empowerment and handicraft production. SogdArt has showcased its creations at Tajikistan Fashion Week (2020, 2022, 2023) and provided vocational training for Afghan refugee women, supported by Spirit of America.
A published poet, Nasiba writes in Tajik, Russian, and English, sharing her work on Facebook and Instagram. She continues to inspire and empower others through her leadership, creativity, and dedication to social impact.
