An Outreach Event for Creative Services Professionals
Date/Time: Thursday, June 24, 2010, 2-4pm
Location: Portland Building Room C
Purpose of the Workshop: To create an environment where minority owned, women owned, and emerging small services firms can meet and interact with City of Portland communications mangers from various bureaus, and learn about upcoming project for FY '10-'11.
Participating Communications Managers: Julia Thompson, Bureau of Planning and Sustainability; Elizabeth Kennedy-Wong, Parks Bureau; Jimmy Brown, Water Bureau; Megan Callahan, BES; Maileen Hamto, Housing Bureau.
Target Audience: MWESB firms in the areas of writing, editing, graphic design, marketing and outreach, audio/visual, community relations and public affairs, facilitation, training, mediation and conflict resolution, media relations, and related fields.
Workshop Format: Following introductions of communication managers and attendees, communication managers will each provide up to a ten minute overview of the creative work of their bureaus, writing design styles, branding and themes of their bureaus, and an overview of actual and potential project needs for the upcoming fiscal year. Ample time after the presentations will be provided for question and answers, discussion and informal networking.
